LANDnet Workshop

On 9-11 May 2005 CELK Center will organise the LANDnet Workshop in Budapest, Hungary with the scope of activating e-community on land market related fields in CEE countries.The workshop will largely contribute to the formulation of the most urgent recommendations for action in the region consistent with international best practices and EU requirements. Establishing an active e-community through intensive information exchange will improve the land management services in the region.


The aims of the workshop are to offer an opportunity to organisations to fficiently share their knowledge and experience,to investigatethe best practices in the region, and to serve as a perfect frame for discussing and testing the LANDnet portal.


The main sessions of the Workshop are the following:


  • e-Content, e-Governance strategic objectives, related EU policies with key speakers from the European Commission and FAO
  • the needs and current development stage of e-Governance on Land Management with Governmental representatives
  • LANDnet, IKON session with key speakers from GTZ
  • e-Content services by private and civil organisations
  • technical sessions by the most relevant service and digital tool provider companies for Land Management.

The participants will also benefit from an exhibition focusing on tools and methods for land management related e-services.


Subsequent to the LANDnet Workshop, the CELK Center is also organizing the PROGIS Day on 11 May 2005 the topic of which is IT in Rural Areas.The conference will take place at the Palace of Hungarian Culture Foundation and the registration is still open.
