SPAR Europe 2010 Call - 16/06/2010

Presentation abstracts are sought for the SPAR Europe 2010 conference, which will be combined with Plant-Tech 2010. The conference focuses on 3D data capture, processing and integration with CAD/GIS for engineering, construction, manufacturing and security. Abstracts on 3D imaging applications, or plant information technology for the oil & gas industry, may be submitted online.

The conference will bring together plant owner-operators, EPC contractors, information management solution providers; as well as managers and engineers in the European oil and gas industry, manufacturing companies, civil and transportation infrastructure engineering firms, industrial metrologists, geotechnical and mining firms, land surveyors, security and forensic, and historic preservation experts.

The 2010 conference combines Plant-Tech's specialty of technologies for plant design, plant engineering and plant information management with SPAR's workshops and technical seminars on the business and technology of capturing, managing and integrating 3D information.

The conference is to take place 7-8 December 2010 at the Amsterdam RAI Convention Centre, the Netherlands.

Presentation abstracts are invited describing innovative uses of 3D imaging and other technologies, data capture, processing and integration for large-scale capital assets such as process and power plants; security, historic preservation and other areas (listed below). Ideally presentations will include metrics identifying the impact of these methods on outcomes, e.g., maintaining or reducing critical path time, achieving cost savings, enabling safety and productivity gains, or other measures. Presentations that address the issues of best practices for contracting, professional development and liability management are also invited.

Abstracts can be submitted via the online system before Friday, 2nd July 2010.

Topics can include:
-The business case for 3D laser scanning capture and delivery (impact on project risk mitigation, cost, schedule, safety and quality)
-3D Virtualisation and Asset Management
-Plant Data Integrity & Security in Operations & Maintenance
-Plant Information Management
-Mobile Surveying/Mapping
-Integration of CAD and GIS with Point Cloud Processing Solutions
-Creating Building Information Modeling (BIM) deliverables from scan data

-Dose Reduction/Radiation Protection/Pipe Slope Measurement (in nuclear applications)
-New 3D Imaging Technologies, including gigapixel and highdynamic range photography
-Close-range Photogrammetry
-Best Practices for Contracting and Service Provider Selection
-Standards Updates and Progress (esp. data integration and the implementation of ISO Standard 15926)
-Training and Professional Development
