Survey Team of the Month
Eric Stahlke, Land Surveyor and Certified Federal Surveyor of Tanana Chiefs Conference submitted his team for ‘Survey Team of the Month', mentioning that the team specialises in surveying remote boundary areas of Alaska. The photo shows the team at a camp on the Nation River in NE Alaska.
SachiareGIM International's publishing director Durk Haarsma is a new blogger, here sharing his thoughts on our website during a visit to Japan:
"I am a strong believer in the theory that economy is psychology. An attitude of optimism will help dig the economy out of the biggest recession for decades. But psychology is not all. The sheer fact that surveying is a business looking forward to future growth, that almost every day brings new reinforcement of the importance of geo-information, is enough to encourage the belief that, combined with even moderate optimism and plenty of pride in good-quality products, the survey manufacturing business in Japan will receive a boost in the post-recession era. So here's good luck- or, as they say in Japanese, sachiare!"

3D Scanning of Historic Sugar Factories |
|
The Alliance for Integrated Spatial Technologies at the University of South Florida, USA, recently worked with the Florida Park Service on a project to document the remains of several historic sugar-mill sites in the State Parks to create as-builts to be used in preservation and conservation of these resources. The FARO LS 880, along with GPS and total station georeferencing and colour imaging, was used on these projects.
