NovAtel Receives Galileo SoL Contract20/12/2005 |

NovAtel Inc. (Canada) has announced that it has been awarded a contract by CMC Electronics Inc. (Canada), to undertake development of a Galileo Safety of Life (SoL) demonstrator receiver for the Canadian Space Agency (CSA). The value of this contract is CDN$ 500,000. Galileo is expected to offer several services, including the Safety of Life Service, as a benefit to users equipped with Galileo-compatible receivers.

3D Scanning of Historic Sugar Factories |

The Alliance for Integrated Spatial Technologies at the University of South Florida, USA, recently worked with the Florida Park Service on a project to document the remains of several historic sugar-mill sites in the State Parks to create as-builts to be used in preservation and conservation of these resources. The FARO LS 880, along with GPS and total station georeferencing and colour imaging, was used on these projects.
