| Fugro (Netherlands) has acquired William Lettis & Associates, Inc. (WLA), a geological consultancy with headquarters in Walnut Creek, California. Founded in 1990, WLA operates globally from offices in California, Colorado, Texas and Georgia. Turnover for WLA in 2007 is over USD15 million and it employs a staff of 75. |

WLA is an earth science consulting company which specialises in earthquake hazard assessment and engineering geology for the power industry, government agencies, the oil and gas industry, and the water and infrastructure markets.
WLA's expertise will enhance and broaden Fugro's geotechnical consultancy and geohazards practices, and the combined service offering will bring added value to both firm's clients.
Currently, the firm is very active with the resurgence of the nuclear industry and other larger projects such as the Panama Canal extension.
The acquisition will play a key role in enhancing Fugro's global geoconsultancy capacity. WLA will operate within Fugro's geotechnical division. Bill Lettis, the founder of WLA, will remain as President and Director of the company.
