Intermap Technologies and ESRI Enhance GIS with Precision 3D Elevation Data

  26/03/2008
Intermap Technologies (CO, USA) has announced that ESRI has agreed to distribute Intermap's 3D digital elevation models and images to its customers.

Under the terms of the agreement, Intermap's existing core datasets, including high-resolution digital terrain models, digital surface models, and orthorectified radar images, will be made available to ESRI customers and solution providers. Additional data, based on Intermap's ongoing NEXTMap USA countrywide mapping program, will be available incrementally as it is processed.

3D Scanning of Historic Sugar Factories

The Alliance for Integrated Spatial Technologies at the University of South Florida, USA, recently worked with the Florida Park Service on a project to document the remains of several historic sugar-mill sites in the State Parks to create as-builts to be used in preservation and conservation of these resources. The FARO LS 880, along with GPS and total station georeferencing and colour imaging, was used on these projects.
