TerraGo Technologies Appoints New President and CEO14/05/2008 |
| TerraGo Technologies has appointed Richard M. "Rick" Cobb as the new President and CEO, effective immediately. Cobb, who most recently served as COO for Approva Corporation, replaces James Davis, who is departing the company after three years of leadership. In his new role, Cobb will be responsible for developing company strategy, fostering strategic partner and customer relationships and leading business operations for the company. |

Cobb boasts over 20 years experience in the domestic and international software industry, including ten years working in the computer-aided design (CAD) market and ten years in Enterprise IT. He is an eight-year veteran of Cadence Design Systems, where he was a Vice President and General Manager. During his five-year tenure at Approva, he played a critical role in securing more than $35 million in venture investment, led the market strategy that helped the company become an acknowledged industry visionary and grew annual revenue at an average rate of over 100 percent per year. Prior to Approva, Cobb was Senior Vice President of Worldwide Sales and Strategic Alliances for enterprise collaboration and knowledge management pioneer Intraspect Software (Vignette) where he helped position the company for rapid growth, then built and led successful global field operations for four years. Rick is a graduate of the United States Naval Academy with a bachelor of science degree in management engineering.

The Alliance for Integrated Spatial Technologies at the University of South Florida, USA, recently worked with the Florida Park Service on a project to document the remains of several historic sugar-mill sites in the State Parks to create as-builts to be used in preservation and conservation of these resources. The FARO LS 880, along with GPS and total station georeferencing and colour imaging, was used on these projects.
