Map World Forum Abstract Submission Deadline Extended

GIS Development, the organisers of Map World Forum, the Global Geospatial Conference, have announced the extension of the paper abstract submission deadline to September 15, 2008. The conference is scheduled for February 10 - 13, 2009 at Hyderabad International Convention Centre, India.

Paper abstracts are invited for all technical sessions, seminars, forums and symposiums and can be submitted online at the conference site www.mapworldforum.org. The theme of the conference this year is ‘Geospatial Technology for Sustainable Planet Earth'.

3D Scanning of Historic Sugar Factories

The Alliance for Integrated Spatial Technologies at the University of South Florida, USA, recently worked with the Florida Park Service on a project to document the remains of several historic sugar-mill sites in the State Parks to create as-builts to be used in preservation and conservation of these resources. The FARO LS 880, along with GPS and total station georeferencing and colour imaging, was used on these projects.
