DigitalGlobe Launches ImageConnect06/08/2008 |
| At the annual ESRI International User Conference, Digital Globe has released ImageConnect: Global, an extensive online collection of high resolution international imagery. This collection provides instant online access to 30.5 million km2 of imagery with in-depth coverage of 36 countries worldwide, much of which is not available through other web services or commercial portals. |
|
ImageConnect: Global gives people who need to visualise assets and their surrounding environment the ability to integrate a constant flow of imagery into any ongoing project instead of having to seek imagery providers for individual projects or manage multiple data sources.
The initial ImageConnect: Global offering includes 36 countries including UK, France, Germany, Italy, Portugal, Russia, Thailand, Indonesia, Singapore, India, Brazil, Egypt, Saudi Arabia and Mexico, with more nations rolling out in the coming months.

|
The Alliance for Integrated Spatial Technologies at the University of South Florida, USA, recently worked with the Florida Park Service on a project to document the remains of several historic sugar-mill sites in the State Parks to create as-builts to be used in preservation and conservation of these resources. The FARO LS 880, along with GPS and total station georeferencing and colour imaging, was used on these projects.
