| TatukGIS has released Arc2TatukGIS plug-in for porting existing GIS projects from ESRI ArcGIS/ArcMap to TatukGIS software products. ArcGIS users can download and use this plug-in which will install within an ArcGIS environment. The exported TatukGIS project can be opened and used in any product supporting the TatukGIS project file. |

- Conversion of project related information (map symbology, labels, colors, fills, line widths, coordinate system information, extent, map units, scale, layer organization, etc.) from an ArcGIS *.mxd project file into a TatukGIS *.ttkgp project file. - Conversion of each vector map layer in the source ArcGIS project, from any ArcGIS supported format, into a SHP format layer in the exported TatukGIS project. Any raster layers from the ArcGIS project are organised in the TatukGIS project without format conversion. - Export reflecting a user specified map extent (area). - Support for filtered layers ("query filter" and scale range"). - Verification of all geometries in each source layer to ensure that no corrupted geometric features are exported.
Use of Arc2TatukGIS in combination with the free TatukGIS Viewer gives ArcGIS users the means to distribute any ArcGIS project to anyone, for use on any Windows computer, without the purchase of any additional software.

The Alliance for Integrated Spatial Technologies at the University of South Florida, USA, recently worked with the Florida Park Service on a project to document the remains of several historic sugar-mill sites in the State Parks to create as-builts to be used in preservation and conservation of these resources. The FARO LS 880, along with GPS and total station georeferencing and colour imaging, was used on these projects.
