Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors Supports GEO-903/12/2008 |
| The organisers of GEO-9 have announced a half-day seminar supported by the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS). Under the title ‘Property: the changing paradigm - but surveying remains at its heart’ the seminar will include topical presentations from some of the UK’s eading surveyors including a keynote from Ian Pitt, RICS West Midlands Chair. |

Designed to attract surveying practitioners to GEO-9, the UK’s only dedicated exhibition targeted at engineering, surveying, geomatics and GIS professionals, the seminar will take place on the afternoon of the 1st April 2009 at the Ricoh Arena, Coventry (UK) followed by a drinks reception and Gala Dinner.
Raising awareness of new technology, best practice and ideas, ‘Property: the changing paradigm’ will include sessions covering topical issues such as ‘Flood Risk and Insurance: it’s all about location and height’, ‘Neighbour Disputes, Boundaries and the Law – there’s now a better way’ and ‘Energy Performance Certificates: efficient and timely surveys’.
GEO-9 is set to build on the success of GEO-8, the first new exhibition for more than 15 years targeted at engineering, surveying, geomatics and GIS professionals which drew support from more than 40 leading suppliers of geospatial products and services. A winning combination of commercial exhibition, show floor seminars and a range of social networking opportunities attracted more than 850 high quality visitors to the event and the organisers of GEO-9 are hoping to build on this success for the 2009 event.
GEO-9 will also co-host the m3 Conference. Focusing on the 3m’s of geospatial information - measuring, modelling, managing - the conference theme “When every penny has to count: cost effective geo-solutions for challenging time” reflects the changing times the industry has to respond to and the conference programme will be published soon. GEO-9 will take place on the 1st and 2nd of April 2009 at the Ricoh Arena, Coventry (UK). Occupying more than 40 acres close to the M6 motorway, the Arena is centrally located and easy to access.
