| Geomaat has placed an order for StreetMapper 360. Following rigorous trials of the system Geomaat has selected the vehicle-mounted laser scanning solution to support expansion of their international surveying operations. Geomaat has also agreed to work in partnership with 3D Laser Mapping, the UK developers of StreetMapper 360, to jointly develop new solutions for the European surveying market. |

StreetMapper 360 has been designed for the rapid 3D mapping of highways, infrastructure and buildings using vehicle mounted lasers. Travelling at normal road speeds, StreetMapper 360 offers a 360-degree field of view with high-precision mapping to a range of 300m. Capturing every detail along the highway corridor including barriers, gulleys and overhead wires, surveyors can create highly accurate 3D computer models for new scheme planning, maintenance, wide load route assessment and post-incident investigations.

3D Scanning of Historic Sugar Factories |

The Alliance for Integrated Spatial Technologies at the University of South Florida, USA, recently worked with the Florida Park Service on a project to document the remains of several historic sugar-mill sites in the State Parks to create as-builts to be used in preservation and conservation of these resources. The FARO LS 880, along with GPS and total station georeferencing and colour imaging, was used on these projects.
