Housing Association GIS Users Meet

  06/04/2009
Cadcorp recently hosted a meeting dedicated to supporting GIS users in housing associations. Held in the Node Conference Centre, near Hitchin (UK), attendees included representatives from ten housing associations along with staff from the Ordnance Survey and Cadcorp business partners working in the sector.

Cadcorp showed a demonstration of its recently launched Housing Association Toolkit which, when combined with the Cadcorp SIS - Spatial Information System desktop GIS products, provides a GIS capability particular to the needs of organisations working in this sector. Attendees were shown how developments in web-based GIS could promote better exchange of information between departments and with business partner organisations, thus contributing to an increased return on investment.

The Ordnance Survey updated the audience on latest developments with their data products, including Address Layer 2, while Graeme Gould, GIS officer of Grand Union Housing Group provided an overview of how GIS is used within his organisation.
