Very Large Scale Orthophoto Project Completed01/05/2009 |
| Ofek Aerial Photography completed an orthophoto of 10,000 sq. km in 15-cm GSD in just 4 days flight shortly after receiving a VisionMap A3 Digital camera and automatic processing system. The processing was completed within 5 weeks. |

As part of the close cooperation between the companies, Ofek has been VisionMap's beta-site for the testing of A3. During the beta phase, Ofek photographed its first digital projects with A3 in 2007. The system was highly productive, enabling acquisition of thousands of square kilometres in a single day's flight and produced photogrammetric solved vertical and oblique imagery. Combined with a fully automated processing system, the VisionMap A3 created a seamless solution, enabling substantial cost reduction and fast delivery. Following successful testing, Ofek has recently decided to purchase a system and is now operating its first A3 digital aerial camera.

The Alliance for Integrated Spatial Technologies at the University of South Florida, USA, recently worked with the Florida Park Service on a project to document the remains of several historic sugar-mill sites in the State Parks to create as-builts to be used in preservation and conservation of these resources. The FARO LS 880, along with GPS and total station georeferencing and colour imaging, was used on these projects.
