Aerial Photo Maps Boost Service Provision26/05/2009 |
| High-resolution aerial photography is helping to boost the provision of services across public sector organisations in the North East of England. Purchased by Tyne and Wear Research and Information (TWRI) on behalf of a consortium that includes local councils, emergency services and the Passenger Transport Authority, the GeoPerspectives imagery from Bluesky will provide benefits for a variety of applications. |
|
These applications include frontline use within emergency service response vehicles and supporting decision-making within the planning application process. At 10cm resolution, the digital aerial photomap is detailed enough to view individual property boundaries, specific land uses and even street markings.

During this presentation of Blaise Aguera during TED 2010, you can see Bing Maps working from the sky towards street-level imagery and also showing images inside buildings. It even is capable adding real-time movie imagery from inside. |
