Adelaide Oblique Imagery04/06/2009 |
| Due to the demand for oblique imagery, AAMHatch has now captured Adelaide with the Multi-angle Pictometry technology. Having already captured Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Hobart, Canberra, Wollongong, Geelong, Newcastle and the Gold Coast; Adelaide has now been captured from multiple perspectives. |
|
Unlike the one-dimensional view from traditional orthophotos, Pictometry imagery allows clients to work with the multiple perspectives available from oblique imagery. This new technology makes decision making more effective and reduces the time and cost associated with site visits.
This technology incorporates high-resolution ‘oblique' photography as well as the overhead ortho view, resulting in a seemingly 360 degree view of any area. Used through its own user interface or in conjunction with a client's current software application, Pictometry provides ‘visual intelligence' to Planners, Asset Managers, Property Managers and Development Application reviewers to be more effective and informed, allowing them to see and measure buildings, assets, streets and properties from all angles.
AAMHatch plans to capture more areas in Australia and internationally. Pictometry capture of Perth is currently underway.

3D Scanning of Historic Sugar Factories |
|
The Alliance for Integrated Spatial Technologies at the University of South Florida, USA, recently worked with the Florida Park Service on a project to document the remains of several historic sugar-mill sites in the State Parks to create as-builts to be used in preservation and conservation of these resources. The FARO LS 880, along with GPS and total station georeferencing and colour imaging, was used on these projects.
