RapidEye Partners With MDA Federal

RapidEye has announced a strategic partnership agreement with MDA Federal (formerly Earth Satellite Corporation - EarthSat) to be one of their distributors in the United States. This partnership grants MDA Federal distribution rights for products and services to some U.S. government markets and was signed earlier this month.
 


MDA Federal has been providing geospatial products and services to U.S. government agencies, conservation organisations, and various corporations since 1969. MDA Federal is the US

subsidiary of MacDonald, Dettwiler and Associates Ltd. (MDA), the prime contractor for RapidEye's space and ground segment, in Richmond (Canada).

3D Scanning of Historic Sugar Factories

The Alliance for Integrated Spatial Technologies at the University of South Florida, USA, recently worked with the Florida Park Service on a project to document the remains of several historic sugar-mill sites in the State Parks to create as-builts to be used in preservation and conservation of these resources. The FARO LS 880, along with GPS and total station georeferencing and colour imaging, was used on these projects.
