'Sample the World'10/07/2009 |
| RapidEye have released a selection of sixteen demonstration products generated by the RapidEye system. The samples of the RapidEye Standard Image Products show a variety of areas around the world including agricultural, forestry and urban areas. |
|
Different types of terrain in different countries are represented to accommodate just about everyone. Potential customers can test RapidEye's products covering an area they are familiar with, and there is no financial risk involved. We also want to make sure that there are a large number of samples available to show the consistency and quality of our products.
The sample datasets are available as RapidEye Ortho Products (level 3A) which offer the highest level of processing available for the RapidEye Standard Image Products. These images have been radiometrically corrected, and have been orthorectified using Ground Control Points and a DTED level 1 SRTM DEM (digital elevation model) or better.

3D Scanning of Historic Sugar Factories |
|
The Alliance for Integrated Spatial Technologies at the University of South Florida, USA, recently worked with the Florida Park Service on a project to document the remains of several historic sugar-mill sites in the State Parks to create as-builts to be used in preservation and conservation of these resources. The FARO LS 880, along with GPS and total station georeferencing and colour imaging, was used on these projects.
