GSS6300 Multi-GNSS Test System

  12/08/2009
The Spirent GSS6300 Multi-GNSS Signal Generator is an addition to the company\'s Multi-GNSS product portfolio, designed for high-volume production test applications for devices that use commercial GPS/SBAS, GLONASS and/or Galileo receivers. The system provides a comprehensive remote control interface, facilitating easy integration into Automated Test Equipment (ATE) environments.

The GSS6300 is an evolution of the familiar Spirent GSS6100 single-channel GPS/SBAS production test system that is widely specified for manufacturing test applications. It shares the features, interfaces and specifications of the existing GSS6100 product to which is added Glonass and Galileo capability as well as GPS/SBAS.

Designed with ease-of-use and cost efficiencies in mind, the test approach can be configured to reduce test time per device, and the in-rack calibration to decrease downtime and disruption. The system can be upgraded in the field, from a single constellation of GPS/SBAS to two or three constellation systems that include Glonass and/or Galileo. In addition, each GSS6300 includes the class-leading accuracy and reliability that Spirent customers have come to expect.

3D Scanning of Historic Sugar Factories

The Alliance for Integrated Spatial Technologies at the University of South Florida, USA, recently worked with the Florida Park Service on a project to document the remains of several historic sugar-mill sites in the State Parks to create as-builts to be used in preservation and conservation of these resources. The FARO LS 880, along with GPS and total station georeferencing and colour imaging, was used on these projects.
