Throw Away Your Tile Cache21/08/2009 |
| Erdas announces Upgrade and Throw Away Your Tile Cache, a free webinar on 25 August 2009 at 11 a.m. (EDT). This webinar showcases Erdas Image Web Server, a high-speed, specialised application that distributes massive amounts of geospatial imagery to thousands of users on a single server. |
|
Erdas Image Web Server's optimised tile delivery enables to quickly deliver massive amounts of raster and vector data. A cache only works in the area selected, and is often an expensive and complicated alternative. With optimised tile delivery in ERDAS Image Web Server, all of your data (not just a subset) is always served faster than you ever thought possible. This solution is ideal for government organizations with geospatial data to share with the public.
If your organization is interested in creating a public access website, this webinar will show you how easy and inexpensive the most powerful geospatial serving engine is to implement. You can put both your vectors and imagery onto a website with just a few simple mouse clicks.

3D Scanning of Historic Sugar Factories |
|
The Alliance for Integrated Spatial Technologies at the University of South Florida, USA, recently worked with the Florida Park Service on a project to document the remains of several historic sugar-mill sites in the State Parks to create as-builts to be used in preservation and conservation of these resources. The FARO LS 880, along with GPS and total station georeferencing and colour imaging, was used on these projects.
