POSPac MMS 5.3

  01/09/2009
Applanix has launched POSPac Mobile Mapping Suite v5.3, a global navigation satellite system (GNSS)-aided inertial post-processing software for mobile mapping applications. New functionality includes the ability to generate trajectories for Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) processing, as well as the automatic import of POSTrack flight plans for improved SmartBase planning.

The SmartBase database within POSPac MMS is also automatically updated and a world map showing the current location of all available ground-based reference stations is displayed visually.

POSPac MMS 5.3 also includes the next generation of DSS RapidOrtho, featuring a significant reduction in time to generate ortho imagery.

3D Scanning of Historic Sugar Factories

The Alliance for Integrated Spatial Technologies at the University of South Florida, USA, recently worked with the Florida Park Service on a project to document the remains of several historic sugar-mill sites in the State Parks to create as-builts to be used in preservation and conservation of these resources. The FARO LS 880, along with GPS and total station georeferencing and colour imaging, was used on these projects.
