| A land registration system, International Land Systems' LRS software, based on ESRI geographic information system (GIS) software, is to be used in the implementation of a Rural Land Registration and Certification Project in China's Anhui Province. The company was selected by the United States Trade and Development Agency (USTDA) to implement a registration and certification program based on the ArcGIS software platform. | |
|
The Rural Land Registration and Certification Project will support the Anhui Province's Agricultural Commission by defining land registry system requirements, developing software configurations, and providing public outreach and training to stakeholders. The implications for this project are immense, as it will allow rural residents to have the same, or near equal certificates of land ownership as urban residents, significantly increasing the value of their land. The Alliance for Integrated Spatial Technologies at the University of South Florida, USA, recently worked with the Florida Park Service on a project to document the remains of several historic sugar-mill sites in the State Parks to create as-builts to be used in preservation and conservation of these resources. The FARO LS 880, along with GPS and total station georeferencing and colour imaging, was used on these projects.
