| With over 16,000 visitors, a further rise in the proportion of international visitors to a total of 22% and 1,450 congress participants, Intergeo 2009 has come to a close after three days in Karlsruhe (Germany). Theese figures did more than exceed the expectations of the organiser, the Deutsche Verein für Vermessungswesen e.V. Gesellschaft für Geodäsie, Geoinformation und Landmanagement (German Association of Surveying German Society for Geodesy, Geoinformation and Land Management (DVW). Initial canvassing of the 475 exhibitors shows that 90% of the companies achieved their targets at the 15th Intergeo and all were united in their praise for the high quality of contacts they made. | |

3D Scanning of Historic Sugar Factories |

The Alliance for Integrated Spatial Technologies at the University of South Florida, USA, recently worked with the Florida Park Service on a project to document the remains of several historic sugar-mill sites in the State Parks to create as-builts to be used in preservation and conservation of these resources. The FARO LS 880, along with GPS and total station georeferencing and colour imaging, was used on these projects.
