3D Visualisation Compatibility

  19/10/2009
Intermap Technologies and Eternix have established compatibility between Intermap's NEXTMap DEM data and Eternix's Blaze View visualisation solution, enabling real-time presentation of any 2D imagery in 3D. Raster images, vector data, and video can be accurately placed on top of Intermap's 3D terrain models and presented in Eternix Blaze View on-the-fly without the need for pre-processing.

Combining the capabilities of the industry's new standard for geospatial base maps from Intermap and Eternix's sophisticated software brings geospatial users a step closer to the long-awaited world of real-time 3D visualization.

"Blaze View's pioneering capabilities immediately enable users to create 3D visualization assets using the best geospatial base map in Western Europe and the U.S.," stated Adam Denman, Intermap Technologies vice president & general manager, Europe. "This level of interoperability takes 3D visualization to the next level. Intermap digital elevation models solve a host of business needs worldwide. The ability to easily create visualization assets using highly accurate DEMS to demonstrate solutions to their customers is yet another example of how companies are leveraging the tremendous value of our NEXTMap database."

"NEXTMap digital elevation models provide the quality required to make accurate 3D applications a widespread reality in the geospatial visualization domain" said Raviv Brueller, chief executive officer at Eternix. "The use of an accurate basemap enables our software to generate a realistic visualization rendering on-the-fly."

The companies will unveil their compatibility demonstration in the upcoming GEOINT 2009 symposium in San-Antonio, TX, this week.

Indoor Augmented Reality with Bing Maps

During this presentation of Blaise Aguera during TED 2010, you can see Bing Maps working from the sky towards street-level imagery and also showing images inside buildings. It even is capable adding real-time movie imagery from inside.
