Leica XPro 4.2 Provides Enhanced Triangulation09/11/2009 |
| Leica Geosystems’ line sensor workflow software Leica XPro has been updated with several enhancements. Leica XPro covers the entire line sensor workflow from data download to image generation. Users of the new version XPro 4.2 can now take advantage of on-the-fly generated images in triangulation and many other improvements to increase productivity and efficiency. |

The Leica XPro software provides complete and advanced ground processing workflow from data download to image generation. A significant enhancement in Leica XPro 4.2 is the new point measurement capability from triangulation. Users can now take advantage of on-the-fly generated Level 1 images directly in the triangulation process. This new feature further improves the workflow and provides higher performance rates.
The Image Viewer within Leica XPro 4.2 has been further improved. Image footprints are now shown when takes are loaded by session. It also makes loading images easier by remembering mapping projection. The coordinate values in the status bar are selectable for further use. Finally, the left/right image handling in the Image Viewer is with full DRA functionality support.
Leica XPro is designed to deliver stereo-viewable images or high-resolution orthophotos with extreme speed and minimal user interaction. In Leica XPro 4.2 the radiometric corrections (BRDF) have been further improved using specific masking information while generating image statistics. The Radiometric Image Chain implemented throughout the Leica XPro workflow leads to perfect image radiometry. Generated products are ready for further handling by a wide range of digital photogrammetry software packages.
Leica XPro 4.2 is immediately available and has already been delivered to the first customers. Customers with software maintenance contract receive the Leica XPro 4.2 updates free of charge.

3D Scanning of Historic Sugar Factories |
|
The Alliance for Integrated Spatial Technologies at the University of South Florida, USA, recently worked with the Florida Park Service on a project to document the remains of several historic sugar-mill sites in the State Parks to create as-builts to be used in preservation and conservation of these resources. The FARO LS 880, along with GPS and total station georeferencing and colour imaging, was used on these projects.
