Optech Announces New ALTM Technology Platform13/11/2009 |
| Optech Incorporated, a manufacturer of advanced lidar survey instruments, is pleased to announce the Pegasus, a new member of the Airborne Laser Terrain Mapper (ALTM) product family. Designed as a technology platform that fully exploits application niches, Pegasus is positioned to take lidar mapping to the next level. |
|
Pegasus represents a new paradigm in lidar mapping and imaging technology. Unique features integral to the sensor design, such as a multiple look-angle approach to data collection, an impressive operational envelope and fully embedded digital camera solutions ranging from 5 to 60 Megapixels, enable the highest quality datasets available to the end-user.
Optech will have an ALTM Pegasus HD400 active imaging system in our aircraft at the ASPRS/MAPPS Fall Conference in San Antonio, Texas, on 16-19 November 2009.

NASA's Earth Observing-1 satellite captured this image of Port-au-Prince, Haiti, on the morning of Jan. 15, 2010. The image shows the densely built and densely populated capital city. Satellite images like this one, when compared with similar images taken before the earthquake, will provide information to support disaster recovery efforts in Haiti. Data from the Advanced Land Imager on the satellite. Image processed by NASA's Earth Observatory, Goddard Space Flight Center
