GEO-10 Final Call for Papers26/11/2009 |
| The organisers of GEO-10, the number one UK GEO Event, have announced a final call for papers. The two-day m3 conference that will accompany the UK’s only dedicated national geospatial trade exhibition will be built around the dual streams of 'Geomatics: Getting the Data' and 'Geographic: Apps & Users'. There will be plenary keynotes and topical presentations from high profile business leaders, practitioners, academics and researchers. |
|
The m3 conference, focusing on 'measuring, modelling and managing' geospatial information, has traditionally been run alongside the GEO Event. The conference organisers say that this year they are widening the focus by including geographic applications to reflect the industry's growing awareness of the opportunities from new technologies and better access to public sector datasets including mapping. The Alliance for Integrated Spatial Technologies at the University of South Florida, USA, recently worked with the Florida Park Service on a project to document the remains of several historic sugar-mill sites in the State Parks to create as-builts to be used in preservation and conservation of these resources. The FARO LS 880, along with GPS and total station georeferencing and colour imaging, was used on these projects.
