New Leica MojoMINI 3D Lightbar Guidance System26/11/2009 |
| Growers looking for a cost-effective entry point into precision guidance have a new option with the Leica mojoMINI 3D lightbar guidance system, which also comes with standard street navigation for daily use in any on-road vehicle. The system comes with the Leica SmartAg antenna and GLIDE technology for improved in-field accuracy. The easy-to-use 4.3-inch, touch-screen display also has multiple guidance options, including AB parallel, A+ heading, contour and pivot guidance for use in many field types. |
"The mojoMINI can be installed in minutes and is so versatile that growers can get daily use out of the display," said Peter Bailey, product manager. "Plus the easy-to-follow 3D display greatly reduces the operators' time to learn the system while increasing in-field guidance accuracy over traditional LED lightbar systems."
The on-road navigation software is robust with voice commands and lane assistance technology. The high-quality graphics coupled with cutting-edge routing and direction-finding capabilities allow users to get the most out of their hardware in the field or on the go. The Leica mojoMINI also includes a calculator feature for calculations on the go - whether crunching business numbers or mixing complex farm applications.
The Leica mojoMINI was available for preview at Agritechnica in Hanover, Germany, two weeks ago and will be released for pre-orders beginning in December.
"We saw a lot of interest at Agritechnica from growers and resellers alike. This is going to be a great product to broaden our ag guidance platform," said Rob Kiernan, global sales and marketing manager.
The Leica mojoMINI lightbar system complements the current line of mojo auto-steer products, including the Leica mojoGLIDE console with 6- to 8-inch (15- to 25-cm) pass-to-pass accuracy and the original Leica mojoRTK console with repeatable 2-inch (5 cm) accuracy. 3D Scanning of Historic Sugar Factories |
|
The Alliance for Integrated Spatial Technologies at the University of South Florida, USA, recently worked with the Florida Park Service on a project to document the remains of several historic sugar-mill sites in the State Parks to create as-builts to be used in preservation and conservation of these resources. The FARO LS 880, along with GPS and total station georeferencing and colour imaging, was used on these projects.
