Many companies have described their regret at having to cancel, stating that the financial resources are no longer available, even though they see the concentration of various interest groups with different technologies and applications as a central factor for the future development in their field of business. Ultimately, however, in the view of the event organisers, the number of anticipated registrations is insufficient to be able to ensure a successful first event for the exhibitors and visitors.

Navigation, satellite positioning and telematics sectors have to date only been represented, fully or in part, at the trade fairs of other events, never together on their own platform. These closely related "boom industries" were to be given their own international forum for the first time with Positionale. However, the difficult economic climate is forcing potential exhibitors of the planned multi-industry platform to consolidate their marketing budgets. The new trade fair concept, highly lauded in professional circles, is clearly entering the market at the wrong time.

That satellite positioning and navigation are key technologies of mobile society and are very well suited to high-technology Baden-Württemberg, is confirmed by the European Space Agency (ESA). Represented by its Technology Transfer Programme Office, the ESA will hold its annual Investment Forum for the first time in Germany.

The ICS International Congress Center Stuttgart will be providing the organisation with an optimal environment for presenting high-tech projects and business ideas from the world of space travel and satellite technology. Around 200 international representatives from the worlds of economics and finance are expected to attend the forum. There will be plenty of opportunities to exchange information and Young companies will get the chance to establish contact with potential investors.
