Velodyne Lidar has appointed Brent Schwarz to the position of vice president of sales and marketing. A twenty-year veteran with proven success in sales and channel development, Schwarz will be responsible for implementing strategic marketing programs to educate customers on the benefits of using Velodyne's lidar sensors in 3D mobile mapping and autonomous navigation systems. He will also collaborate with potential customers on the best methods for utilising lidar technology in new products and services.

As a seasoned sales professional, Schwarz has held sales management roles at leading technology companies including Magellan Navigation, Intel and On Command Corporation. Schwarz earned a Bachelor of Science degree in journalism from the University of Colorado at Boulder and a Masters of Business Administration from Santa Clara University.

"I am excited to join Velodyne," said Schwarz. "The company has already created distinctive new opportunities for its lidar technology with defense contractors, heavy equipment OEMs and 3-D mobile-mapping system integrators. I look forward to being a catalyst for Velodyne's continued success."
