  28/01/2010
The Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission (PTC) will deploy Intergraph's public safety solutions to advance incident prevention and response efforts on the state's 545-mile toll-road system. The PTC's Traffic Operations Center (TOC) will leverage Intergraph's integrated public safety, incident management and reporting solutions to empower responders with reliable and up-to-date information for effective and efficient emergency response to turnpike incidents.

Pennsylvania Turnpike accidentAs part of an early warning incident detection and response network spanning the entire turnpike, TOC personnel will leverage Intergraph's computer-aided dispatch (CAD) and reporting solutions to effectively manage more than 400 calls and 11,000 radio transmissions per day for emergency fire, medical and state police services. Additionally, the integrated system will also include Intergraph's Business Intelligence solution which aids in generating reports, performing ad hoc data analysis, and turning information into actionable intelligence for enhanced decision-making.

"The PTC works tirelessly to prevent incidents on the turnpike. However, when an event does occur, we strive to respond in the most prompt and professional manner," said Allen W. 3D Scanning of Historic Sugar Factories

The Alliance for Integrated Spatial Technologies at the University of South Florida, USA, recently worked with the Florida Park Service on a project to document the remains of several historic sugar-mill sites in the State Parks to create as-builts to be used in preservation and conservation of these resources. The FARO LS 880, along with GPS and total station georeferencing and colour imaging, was used on these projects.
