Navigation Supplier Shuts Down

  01/02/2010
Nav4All posted a message of closing down on its website on 28th January 2010. The suspension of service was due to an ‘unexpected end' of the data licence agreement with Navteq, 100% owned by Nokia. The free-to-use Nav4All navigation system was developed for Navteq data.

In short term, Nav4All was not able to implement the data from another supplier. The service for hundreds of mobile phone handsets of various makes was available in 56 languages during five years. It was used by 27.5 million people worldwide.

3D Scanning of Historic Sugar Factories

The Alliance for Integrated Spatial Technologies at the University of South Florida, USA, recently worked with the Florida Park Service on a project to document the remains of several historic sugar-mill sites in the State Parks to create as-builts to be used in preservation and conservation of these resources. The FARO LS 880, along with GPS and total station georeferencing and colour imaging, was used on these projects.
