Treasure Hunting Game12/02/2010 |
| SuperGeo Technologies develops an application that integrates GIS as well as GPS concepts into Treasure Hunting Game. Treasure Hunting Game is a challenging and educational outdoor activity applying GPS and GIS concepts. Each participant uses a handheld PDA equipped with GIS/GPS functions as the treasure-hunting tool. When the participant is approaching the treasure around 50 metres, a corresponding map and interface will appear and the system will automatically show a quiz related to the treasure or the environment. |
|
Users can learn the applications of GPS and GIS and gain the knowledge of local culture by observing the environment and reading the local history placards during the answer-finding process.

3D Scanning of Historic Sugar Factories |
|
The Alliance for Integrated Spatial Technologies at the University of South Florida, USA, recently worked with the Florida Park Service on a project to document the remains of several historic sugar-mill sites in the State Parks to create as-builts to be used in preservation and conservation of these resources. The FARO LS 880, along with GPS and total station georeferencing and colour imaging, was used on these projects.
