IPAS Freebird Saves up to 25%

  02/03/2010
Leica Geosystems announces a new version of the IPAS GNSS-IMU processing software. The new Leica IPAS Freebird is designed to improve flight economy and simplify GNSS-IMU processing. The new IPAS Freebird allows to economise airborne data acquisition by up to 25%. The application no longer requires a continuous lock of satellites and frees up your mission planning by allowing much tighter turns between flight lines. The results are up to 25% improvement in flight economy for sensor missions and time saving of several minutes per turn.

Previously, GNSS-IMU processing required separate steps for GNSS trajectory and IMU processing. The all new Leica IPAS Freebird with IPAS TC allows you to combine those steps into one by using GNSS raw measurements and tightly coupled GNSS-IMU processing.

3D Scanning of Historic Sugar Factories

The Alliance for Integrated Spatial Technologies at the University of South Florida, USA, recently worked with the Florida Park Service on a project to document the remains of several historic sugar-mill sites in the State Parks to create as-builts to be used in preservation and conservation of these resources. The FARO LS 880, along with GPS and total station georeferencing and colour imaging, was used on these projects.
