Jack Pellicci Appointed to Geospatial Advisory Committee09/03/2010 |
| Intergraph Security, Government & Infrastructure (SG&I) division senior vice president Jack Pellicci has been appointed to serve on the National Geospatial Advisory Committee (NGAC), a Federal Advisory Committee sponsored by the US Department of the Interior. Brig Gen Pellicci, US Army (Ret.), is also general manager of the company's Federal, Security & Intelligence business unit which provides geospatial solutions and services to the federal and defense and intelligence community. |

Pellicci will serve a three year term on the committee, which is led by Interior Secretary Ken Salazar. The committee is charged with shaping policy and setting priorities for US geospatial initiatives, including the development of the National Spatial Data Infrastructure, a technology framework for cost-effective and efficient communication involving geospatially related information.
In addition to providing geospatial enabled software to the federal government, Intergraph also serves state and local governments, and the public safety, security, transportation, photogrammetry, utilities and communications industries.
Since 1996, Pellicci has served on the Board of Directors of the Open Geospatial Consortium (OGC). Additionally, Pellicci serves on the Board of Directors of the National Defense University Foundation and the USO.

The Alliance for Integrated Spatial Technologies at the University of South Florida, USA, recently worked with the Florida Park Service on a project to document the remains of several historic sugar-mill sites in the State Parks to create as-builts to be used in preservation and conservation of these resources. The FARO LS 880, along with GPS and total station georeferencing and colour imaging, was used on these projects.
