Share Your Images

  09/04/2010
Have you been at some event, or undertaking an interesting survey, and would like to share your images with other geomatics professionals? GIM International now offers you the possibility to upload your own images and add captions!

A lot of people take pictures while working and/or attending events. That's why GIM International would like to give you the opportunity to share them with the geospatial community. Our editors will also have a look through submitted images while preparing the next issue of the magazine. So your image may appear - as survey team of the month, accompanying a congress report, or even on the cover!

Upload is simple: click on the link 'Upload your album' in the Photo Album section of the website and select the images you want to upload; add descriptive captions where wanted, and upload the images. When you've done this, the online team will receive an alert to check the album (mainly for technical glitches). After approval, the photos will appear online for everyone to enjoy and respond to.

3D Scanning of Historic Sugar Factories

The Alliance for Integrated Spatial Technologies at the University of South Florida, USA, recently worked with the Florida Park Service on a project to document the remains of several historic sugar-mill sites in the State Parks to create as-builts to be used in preservation and conservation of these resources. The FARO LS 880, along with GPS and total station georeferencing and colour imaging, was used on these projects.
