Swedish Metria to Distribute RapidEye

  16/04/2010
RapidEye has entered into a contractual partnership agreement with Metria (Sweden). Metria will be the distributor for RapidEye satellite imagery in the Scandinavian, Baltic and Icelandic data markets, and holds the distinction of being RapidEye's first distributor to enter the European market.

John Ahlrichs, Vice President of RapidEye, commented, "Metria has expertise in forestry and other markets that will complement our services programme. There are many opportunities for cooperation with Metria and we look forward to a long-term and mutually profitable relationship."

Currently, RapidEye is working on completing its worldwide network of distributors in order to facilitate easy access to RapidEye products in its customers' own language and region.

3D Scanning of Historic Sugar Factories

The Alliance for Integrated Spatial Technologies at the University of South Florida, USA, recently worked with the Florida Park Service on a project to document the remains of several historic sugar-mill sites in the State Parks to create as-builts to be used in preservation and conservation of these resources. The FARO LS 880, along with GPS and total station georeferencing and colour imaging, was used on these projects.
