AutoCAD Map3D 2011 Support for FME

  29/04/2010
Safe Software has added AutoCAD Map3D 2011 support through the release of FME 2010 Service Pack 1 (SP1). Close on the heels of Autodesk's 2011 product release, FME is the first commercial product available to extend AutoCAD Map3D's capabilities through FDO 3.5, facilitating an uninterrupted upgrade path for users.

For over a decade, FME technology has been an integrated part of AutoCAD Map3D. Safe provides this functionality both in FME Desktop, and in a free FME FDO Provider that reads nine key GIS formats - at no charge. With this latest release, FME 2010 SP1, Autodesk users can continue to save time and ensure data currency by directly connecting to external data sources, bypassing the need to import and create redundant copies of their datasets.

As part of Safe's ongoing commitment to maintain current and comprehensive compatibility with evolving formats and applications, FME remains backwards-compatible for users with earlier FDO versions.

Using Total Stations for Indoor Radiation Mapping

A total station can be used for many applications. Oak Ridge Associated Universities (USA) uses a total station for indoor radiation characterisation, which enables the team to better perform environmental assessments. This video shows how it is done.
