Halsey Wise Finalist Entrepreneur Of The Year 2010

  17/05/2010
Intergraph chairman, president and chief executive officer Halsey Wise has been named a finalist for the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur Of The Year 2010 Alabama/ Georgia/Tennessee award programme. Wise was among twenty entrepreneurs from the region selected by an independent judging panel made up of past winners as well as business and community leaders.

Intergraph's software and services empower customers to build and operate more efficient plants and ships, create intelligent maps and protect critical infrastructure and millions of people around the world. Under Wise's leadership and his "Now"-"Next"-"After Next" business transformation plan, Intergraph has increased EBITDA from USD42 million in 2003 to levels expected to exceed USD200 million for 2010, a CAGR of over 28 percent per year. Even in the volatile global recession of 2009, Wise led Intergraph to increased market share, greater profitability and record levels of customer satisfaction. In addition, since 2003 the company has invested more than USD550 million in R&D and filed for 150 patent applications in 25 countries.

This year, the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur Of The Year awards program celebrates its 24th anniversary. The programme has expanded to recognise entrepreneurs in over 135 cities in fifty countries throughout the world. Awards are given to entrepreneurs who demonstrate extraordinary success in the areas of innovation, financial performance and personal commitment to their businesses and communities.

3D Scanning of Historic Sugar Factories

The Alliance for Integrated Spatial Technologies at the University of South Florida, USA, recently worked with the Florida Park Service on a project to document the remains of several historic sugar-mill sites in the State Parks to create as-builts to be used in preservation and conservation of these resources. The FARO LS 880, along with GPS and total station georeferencing and colour imaging, was used on these projects.
