Small Dual-frequency GPS Receiver

  01/06/2010
NovAtel‘s OEMV-1DF, measuring 46mm x 71mm x 13mm is claimed to be the industry's smallest dual-frequency GPS receiver to provide centimetre level, RTK positioning. Weighing 21.5 grams and consuming less than 1.1 Watts, the device is ideal for size-constrained applications. It is available with scalable software upgradeable functionality, including NovAtel's AdVance RTK which provides reliable centimetre level real-time positioning.

NovaTel OEMV 1DF compact OEM GPS receiverAs with all NovAtel OEMV products, the OEMV-1DF features the widest operating temperature range and highest resistance to humidity, shock and vibration for applications in harsh environmental conditions. The OEMV-1DF also features enhanced interference rejection for consistent GPS positioning and measurements in the presence of jamming signals.

Sharing an identical form factor as other OEMV-1 series cards, and with common interface commands, integration efforts of the OEMV-1DF are minimal for new and existing NovAtel customers.

3D Scanning of Historic Sugar Factories

The Alliance for Integrated Spatial Technologies at the University of South Florida, USA, recently worked with the Florida Park Service on a project to document the remains of several historic sugar-mill sites in the State Parks to create as-builts to be used in preservation and conservation of these resources. The FARO LS 880, along with GPS and total station georeferencing and colour imaging, was used on these projects.
