Free Pictometry 3D Models of World Cup03/06/2010 |
| Just as football brings the nations of the world together, AAM and partner company AOC Geomatics have embraced football's greatest tournament and brought together world leading technology and sources of visual intelligence to provide Pictometry Online access for viewing of hundreds of high resolution oblique aerial images of South Africa's football stadiums and surrounds. |
|
AOC Geomatics have recently completed the Pictometry aerial capture for the ten stadiums being used for the World Cup in South Africa. These stadiums are all accessible via Pictometry Online, allowing users to view every location from five directions as well as making measurements directly on the images and integrate the images easily with online map services.
AAM and AOC have also created fully rendered, very high resolution 3D models for the Soccer City, Ellis Park, Cape Town and Nelson Mandela Stadiums. AAM and AOC Geomatics are constantly updating their Pictometry Online coverage, with extensive coverage over Australia, South Africa and New Zealand already available.

|
The Alliance for Integrated Spatial Technologies at the University of South Florida, USA, recently worked with the Florida Park Service on a project to document the remains of several historic sugar-mill sites in the State Parks to create as-builts to be used in preservation and conservation of these resources. The FARO LS 880, along with GPS and total station georeferencing and colour imaging, was used on these projects.
