Canadian Data Distributor for RapidEye

  26/07/2010
MDA Geospatial Services has signed a contractual agreement with RapidEye to be one of its data distributors in Canada.

John Ahlrichs, Vice President of RapidEye, commented "We are glad to have MDA GSI on board as our distributor for Canada. MDA led the development and delivery of our satellite system as our prime contractor. It's only natural that their Geospatial division will be growing the market for RapidEye data in Canada. Through this partnership we will benefit from MDA GSI's expertise, their excellent data sales infrastructure, and their long-standing, trusted relationships in the Canadian market."

Paulo Bezerra, the manager responsible for this business area, said "We look forward to collaborating with RapidEye and to their team of experts. We trust in this partnership and expect great interest in RapidEye's quality satellite imagery in the Canadian market. We are also looking forward to partnering on joint solutions projects developed from optical and radar imagery."

3D Scanning of Historic Sugar Factories

The Alliance for Integrated Spatial Technologies at the University of South Florida, USA, recently worked with the Florida Park Service on a project to document the remains of several historic sugar-mill sites in the State Parks to create as-builts to be used in preservation and conservation of these resources. The FARO LS 880, along with GPS and total station georeferencing and colour imaging, was used on these projects.
