The Eight-Band Challenge offers the opportunity to win imagery for research use, a chance to win USD5,000 and present your findings at Geospatial World Forum in January 2011.
All accepted proposals will be granted free eight-band multispectral imagery, up to 100sq km in order to conduct the research. Completed research papers will be evaluated by a panel of experts who will select five winning papers. The winners will be invited to present their findings at the Geospatial World Forum in Hyderabad, India, 18th to 21st January 2011.
Deadline for proposal submission is 31st August 2010.

The Alliance for Integrated Spatial Technologies at the University of South Florida, USA, recently worked with the Florida Park Service on a project to document the remains of several historic sugar-mill sites in the State Parks to create as-builts to be used in preservation and conservation of these resources. The FARO LS 880, along with GPS and total station georeferencing and colour imaging, was used on these projects.
