| Beijing Power Information Technology Research Center, based in Beijing, China, has selected Intergraph G/Technology and GeoMedia WebMap to improve its smart grid operations. The technology will be used to support power grid design, centrally manage the lifecycle of power grid assets and enhance decision making through real-time monitoring and alarming. With these functions, the utility will improve grid security, safety and reliability while increasing efficiency and cutting costs. |

3D Scanning of Historic Sugar Factories |

The Alliance for Integrated Spatial Technologies at the University of South Florida, USA, recently worked with the Florida Park Service on a project to document the remains of several historic sugar-mill sites in the State Parks to create as-builts to be used in preservation and conservation of these resources. The FARO LS 880, along with GPS and total station georeferencing and colour imaging, was used on these projects.
