Payment Plan Supports Cost Savings

  04/10/2010
In a move to address spending cuts and boost efficiency in the UK public sector, geographic information systems (GIS) and gazetteer management software supplier GGP Systems is introducing a ‘new way to pay' for all new purchases. This allows customers to spread the cost of their software over a three or five year period.

GGP Systems hopes that FlexiPay as the plan is called, will ease the budget pressures being faced by many organisations while still enabling councils and emergency services organisations to reap the rewards of innovative software designed to improve efficiency in the public sector.

FlexiPay is available to all new customers of the company's award winning gazetteer management solutions and geographic information systems software.

It is also available to existing customers purchasing new products. The FlexiPay option combines the software purchase price with the annual maintenance costs for the selected term and spreads them evenly across a three or five year period, with customers being offered the option to pay monthly, quarterly or annually.

One local authority software purchaser commented that a department facing increased demands on decreased budgets sometimes has difficulties making the initial investment in a new solution, even when it's going to save money in the end. "Being able to spread the costs over a longer period of time effectively gives us 0% finance, which means we can balance our spending and stay within budget."

Using Total Stations for Indoor Radiation Mapping

A total station can be used for many applications. Oak Ridge Associated Universities (USA) uses a total station for indoor radiation characterisation, which enables the team to better perform environmental assessments. This video shows how it is done.
