HSE Monitoring Using Remote Sensing

  19/01/2011
Spatial Energy and Apache Corporation, an internationally operating oil and gas exploration and production company, have announced the launch of a global Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) monitoring programme using remote-sensing data and services.

"Environmental stewardship is central to our operations, our stakeholders and our reputation. We felt it important to take advantage of the latest satellite imagery technology in developing and implementing an enterprise-wide environmental monitoring programme.  We're committed to being proactive in improving the efficiency and effectiveness of our environmental decision-making process and making our operations more efficient with an on-going inventory monitoring program," said David Carmony, Vice President, Health, Safety and Environment, Apache Corporation.

"We are excited about partnering  with Apache as they take the lead in this first-of-its kind energy industry initiative to monitoring the environmental impact and safety of their global operations in areas of current and historical development, as well as environmentally sensitive areas," stated Bud Pope, Spatial Energy's President.  "We will provide the latest high resolution satellite and aerial data, advanced algorithms and delivery methods, and the processing support necessary to meet the industry-leading standards set by Apache with this programme."
