Mobile Scanning Twice as Fast05/04/2011 |
| Experience proves that mobile scanning takes half the time of laser scanning using tripod setup. This is on top of the eight to ten times improvement that laser scanning already delivers over traditional survey methods, according to 3D laser scanner developer Maptek. |
|
Maptek will visit mining regions in North America between April and July to demonstrate how sites can use mobile scanning to collect accurate survey data in a safer, faster, and easier way than ever before. The Maptek I-Site 8800 long-range laser scanner has been set up with a ruggedised vehicle mount on a light-duty truck. The scanner is operated from within the cab, allowing normally inaccessible areas to be captured without risk to personnel.
While on site, Maptek staff will do the
surveying, process the data, and demonstrate the workflow and results to
operations. Using Total Stations for Indoor Radiation Mapping |
|
A total station can be used for many applications. Oak Ridge Associated Universities (USA) uses a total station for indoor radiation characterisation, which enables the team to better perform environmental assessments. This video shows how it is done.
