USGS Certification for UltraCamLp

  29/06/2011
Microsoft's UltraCam Division announces that the UltraCamLp successfully completed the United States Geological Survey (USGS) Sensor Type Certification Process. After a thorough review, USGS found the UltraCamLp "to be designed, manufactured, tested, and supported to the level required to reliably meet the performance claims of the manufacturer when operated within manufacturer's intended operational parameters."

The UltraCamLp camera follows in the UltraCam tradition of quality. The UltraCamD was certified by USGS in December 2006, the UltraCamX in July 2008, and the UltraCamXp and UltraCamXp Wide Angle in April 2010.

The UltraCamLp enables smaller companies to use a fully-digital approach to mapping without compromising photogrammetric accuracy or quality. In November 2010, the UltraCamLp digital aerial camera was selected winner of the Technology Innovation category in the 4th Annual MAPPS Geospatial Products and Services Excellence Awards competition.

Using Total Stations for Indoor Radiation Mapping

A total station can be used for many applications. Oak Ridge Associated Universities (USA) uses a total station for indoor radiation characterisation, which enables the team to better perform environmental assessments. This video shows how it is done.
