Stanislaus County Signs With DigitalGlobe06/07/2011 |

| California's Stanislaus County has contracted to use DigitalGlobe's Precision Aerial Imagery to monitor changes and manage government projects across the Central Valley county's 1,500 square mile (3,900 square kilometre) area. | |
|
DigitalGlobe's Precision Aerial product delivers awall-to-wall collection of 30cm natural colour (RGB) and 60cm colour infrared (CIR) aerial orthomosaics covering 10 million square kilometres (four million square miles) across the contiguous United States and Western Europe. Through an agreement with Microsoft, quality imagery is acquired exclusively using Microsoft's UltraCamG digital imaging technology to provide comprehensive coverage with industry leading accuracy, quality and aesthetics.
Stanislaus County GIS Manager Peou Khiek said that because DigitalGlobe's aerial imagery is both comprehensive and constantly refreshed, DigitalGlobe is the best single source for information. The company's solution also reduces the time and money his county typically spends to acquire imagery. "Our county GIS users can get the visual perspective to quickly see where changes have occurred, or manage projects without always having to go into the field. As our population increases and growth returns, DigitalGlobe will continue to deliver the off-the-shelf solution that simplifies the process of detecting and managing change in the long term."
Powered by the company's Cloud Service platform, Precision Aerial Imagery gives DigitalGlobe users unlimited, fast and easy online access to all existing and newly collected imagery from the subscribed region or regions, for as long as the subscription is active. Customers can also choose to have imagery delivered on hard drives or via FTP/Web-based delivery. By giving customers multiple, flexible delivery options, DigitalGlobe helps governments and businesses make more informed decisions, tailored to the way their business operates.

Using Total Stations for Indoor Radiation Mapping |
|
A total station can be used for many applications. Oak Ridge Associated Universities (USA) uses a total station for indoor radiation characterisation, which enables the team to better perform environmental assessments. This video shows how it is done.
