Management Change Southern Mapping Holding16/08/2011 |
| The Southern Mapping Group is being restructured to meet the demands in the market of aerial surveying and remote sensing. From 15th February 2012, Peter Moir and Jim Vaughan step back and have appointed Norman Banks as chief executive officer, with Jannie Engelke taking up Norman's role as new business director. |
|
Peter Moir will head up the Operations Division as operations director and Jim Vaughan is to remain as technical director supporting the whole group. The four founders of the company thus will work on new technologies to streamline the flying operations. Moir sees the possibilities of Lidar, hyperspectral imagery, thermal imagery, geographic information systems, satellite imagery and satellite ground monitoring radar as developments that are interesting to focus on.
The South African branche of the company: Southern Mapping Geospatial, will not be affected by the change and keeps Dumi Sibandze as chief executive officer.
